A record 2,851 graduands were conferred degrees and awarded diplomas by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi at the 63^rd Graduation Ceremony on September 25, 2020 held at the Great Court.

The graduates who followed the ceremony virtually consisted of 54 Doctor of Philosophy Degree Awards (PhDs), 370 Master Degree Awards, 15 Postgraduate Diploma Awards, 2045 Bachelor Degree Awards and 367 Diploma Awards.

The University of Nairobi will for the first time in history conduct orientation for first year students exclusively online due to the COVID-19 outbreak.The orientation to be held from 31st August -4th September 2020 will see new students acquainted with what life is like in campus. 

During the one-day online training session, the Mombasa Campus Staff were equipped with knowledge and skills on Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE)  Management system.

Presiding over the training, the Senior ICT Officer Mr.Simon Mwangi  noted that the ICT is committed to effective and automatic AIE procedures and practices.

The University of Nairobi, Mombasa Campus said goodbye to one of its illustrious and longest serving employees Mr.Zephaniah Nyagwoka.  Mr.Nyagwoka has worked in the University of Nairobi, Mombasa Campus since its inception 2004.

To address and counter the drug problem and reaffirming its resolve, The Executive Director Reachout, Mr.Taib presented effective and holistic approaches needed to resolve the issue. Drug abuse is a complex problem at the intersection of public health, safety and social issues. Very interesting to hear that drug abuse cuts across ages, social status etc.
