The University of Nairobi, Mombasa Campus staff and students, led by the Campus Director, Dr. Sarah Kinyanjui and the University of Nairobi Alumni Association, Mombasa Chapter Chairman, Mr. Mark Nyandiko handed over foodstuff and sanitary towels to H.E. Governor Joho in support of the Mombasa County Household Relief Project. The Campus remains cognisant that the war against COVID 19 requires individual and collective effort. Many thanks to all staff, students and UoN alumni who contributed in cash or kind.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has exposed Kenyans to state-enforced public health protocols at odds with their daily schedules. These include quarantine, curfew and cessation of movement across specific counties, including Mombasa. Put together, the three answer to isolation and containment. Whereas quarantine separates and restricts movement of people who have potentially been exposed to a contagious disease in order to limit disease spread, curfews require people to remain indoors between specified hours.
In a free and democratic country such as the nation of Kenya, fundamental rights and freedoms are guaranteed under the Constitution.
The COVID-19 pandemic demands deliberate individual and collective responses not only to curb the rate of infections but also in addressing the resultant issues. In response, the County Government of Mombasa has set up an elaborate emergency household relief and nutrition support project.
School of Business, Mombasa Campus staff members held a special meeting at the Campus Boardroom. Speaking at the meeting, the Dean SOB, Prof. Jackson Maalu congratulated the staff members for their hard work and dedication in service delivery. The Dean asked the staff to maintain the spirit of hard work in order to achieve the school set goals and objectives.
Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) had a talk/forum with the University of Nairobi, Mombasa campus students who study Procurement and Supply Chain Management on 5/03/2020 to discuss professsionalism, the trends in Procurement And Supply Chain Management and the importance of pursuing this professional certification. It is in this regard that the campus community were trained on Customer Care on 27th/02/2020. They were trained on how to adopt a consistent, professional style when speeaking with customers,skills for engaging with customers and handling their enquiries effectively, identify ways they can add value to customer relationship and exceed expectations
The success of any organisation lies in its human resources capital, vibrant and dedicated human resource team is a sheer promise that the organisation is on a healthy trajectory in terms of its performance. It is in this regard that the University of Nairobi, Mombasa Campus organized a team building event that took place on 15/02/2020 at Sudi Island, Watamu. The Campus has been on the fore front in supporting its staff in all their activities one of them being team building.
